Lumbini: Birth place of Lord Buddha

East of the pillar is the Maya Devi temple and located deep in the temple a stone slab with Ashoka foot imprint making the exact spot where Buddha was born South of the pillar is the scared pond 'Puskarni' where queen Maya Devi (Buddha's Mother) took the ritual bath before giving birth to Prince Siddartha Gautam 27Km west of Lumbini lies the ancient ruins of Tilaurakot. (Palace of King Suddhodan, Buddhas Father). The most significant spot of the palaces the eastern gate from where Prince Siddhartha Gautam departed on his Quest of 'Essence for human life'.
Just 1 and half hours drive north of Lumbini lies the hill station of Tansen Its natural beauty standing at an alleviation of 1600 ft above sea level is a very popular destination for tourist.
